The winery is located in the southern part of Champagne, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, in Champignol-lez-Mondeville. Winemakers since 1759, our family's work consisted of the production of grapes and still wines up to our grandparents' generation. It was in the 1980s that our parents and uncles began the adventure of producing champagne. The vineyards of the estate are all located in the terroir of Champignol, which has the distinction of being the highest point of Champagne viticulture, at 369 meters above sea level. The soils are clay-limestone (marl to Exogyres) whose geological period is the Upper Jurassic, Kimmeridgian dating back to approximately – 150 million years. In this landscape of hills and plateaus, the slopes (facing south over the village) are occupied by the vineyard. The average age of the vines is 40 years, most having been planted between 1970 and 1990. The vines are dominated by Pinot Noir at 90%, Chardonnay and Arbane (a very rare local vine) complete the surfaces. The goal is to keep our soil alive and healthy, our vines are strong and resistant to external aggressions. The wines are aged for a minimum of 24 months on slats, disgorged either without added sugar or exclusively in extra brut (maximum 5g/l of sugar) then put back in the cellar for about 6 months before being released for sale.
