The Pinot Gris or Pinot gris ((former Tokay Pinot Gris or Tokay d'Alsace )) , is a grape variety of variety grey ( grey (in French it means grey). It is mainly produced in Italy, France, Switzerland and Germany. (with the name of Rulers , Gray Monk or Grauburgunder ) . In 2012 covered a production area of almost 5,000 hectares.
The wine produced from this grape variety is copper -coloured, it is often vinified in white but if vinified in contact with the skins it takes on its peculiar copper-coloured colour. and is theoretically less "gifted" than its white or black variant. With a generous character that develops characteristic opulence and flavor. Structured, round and long in the mouth, it presents complex aromas of undergrowth, sometimes slightly smoky or floral.
