Domaine de la Renardiere, one of the most symbolic realities within the small region of Jura, considered today as a true point of reference in the world of artisanal wines beyond the Alps. Sustainability, nature and territory: these are the key points that have marked Jean Michel's activity since the foundation of the winery in 1990. First of all in the vineyard through respectful viticulture with low environmental impact and then in the cellar with a limited use of invasive processes. Jean Mi has an American background; as a young man he learned and studied winemaking techniques in some important companies in California. In 1990 he returned home, to his Jura, and with his partner Laurence they decided to found the winery, starting from some vineyards owned by the Petit family. Today the Domaine de la Renardie winery has a vineyard area of 7.5 hectares spread across the Jura hills. Jean Michel loves his territory and knows the history and composition of each soil perfectly; knows with detailed precision what the blue marls of the Lias can give to the wine, what nuances the red marls give and which vine is best suited to grow on the grey marls. A true ambassador of the territory, who has concentrated all his forces on the local vines: Savagnin (the white vine known for its oxidative style), Ploussard (the native red par excellence of the area) and Chardonnay (which has thrived in these lands for centuries). 60% of the varieties grown are white grapes, while the remaining part are red grapes; all grown with certified organic agriculture. Domaine de la Renardiere wines have a typically territorial style. They are fresh and rich, tense, vital and endowed with that unmistakable and marked mineral note that characterizes the wines of this area. Whites, reds, cremants and oxidative expressions that love nature and portray all its nuances and frames. Original and unique, just like their producer!
