Durella is a native white grape variety widespread in some hilly areas of the Lessini Mountains, on the border between the provinces of Verona and Vicenza . Its grapes are the origin of the Monti Lessini Durello DOC wine , available in four types: Durello, Durello Superiore, Durello passito and Durello spumante.
The vine was cultivated on a small scale since 1700, known by the name of Durasena until the first half of the 1900s. In this period, in fact, several wineries were born that produced the vine, marketing it in Europe and in small quantities in America. In 2007, the merger of the Soave winery with that of Montecchia di Crosara relaunched the Durello market in America and on non-European continents.
