Domaine Huet, in the heart of the Vouvray appellation, has its roots in 1928 thanks to Victor Huet and his son Gaston, precursors of biodynamic agriculture in the French wine scene. However, the structure has even deeper roots that date back to 372 AD with the construction of the Marmoutier Monastery. From 1976 to 2012 it was managed by Gastron's son-in-law, Noël Pinguet, who brought the Domain to prominence for the production of Chenin Blanc demi-sec. Since 2003, ownership of the Domaine has been in the hands of the Chinese Hwang family. Today, the Domaine, immersed in the “Vouvray” appellation, has 30 hectares of Chenin Blanc divided into three different historic parcels: the Haut-Lieu, which extends for 15 hectares on dark clay soil; le Mont , a very popular vineyard for its history and the longevity of its wines, characterized by a stony soil and green clay; Clos du Bourg , among the oldest vineyards of Vouvray which represents one of the Premiers Cru of the appellation and which extends over 6 hectares surrounded by walls, on a clay-limestone soil and a tuffaceous subsoil. The wines of Clos du Bourg are deep and dense, suitable for long aging, but gourmand and gastronomic from their youth.
