The Timorasso vine is a native black grape variety from the Colli Tortonesi area. It has been brought back to the area since the Middle Ages, and over the centuries it has become the most cultivated vine in the district, until the arrival of phylloxera and the Second World War. In recent years there has been a rediscovery of Timorasso, thanks above all to its oenological characteristics. It is currently an authorized vine variety in the provinces of Asti and Alessandria only. The Timorasso bunch is medium-large, fairly compact and elongated, with medium-sized, spherical grapes, with thick, resistant green-yellow skin and fleshy pulp with a neutral flavor.
