“My company extends over 3.5 hectares in San Giovani Ilarione in the province of Verona, at the foot of Lessinia in the Alpone valley (on the south-east side of Mount Cimo, between 300 and 500 meters above sea level). On a clay-limestone soil I set myself the goal of recovering a variety that is being lost, Durella, a vine that has existed in the area for about a thousand years. In the vineyard I chose right from the start to want to work with full respect for what is around me and for myself.”
In 2006 Daniele's first white wine was born, obtained from a rented vineyard of Chardonnay and one of Durella. He chose to take them in the Muni district , where his grandfather was born, who was the first to make wine in the family, and it was a targeted choice, aimed at maintaining the link with the land of his roots and recovering a variety that was disappearing like Durella.
Until 2009 he cultivates grapes and makes wine at Angiolino Maule. In 2010 finally the first wine made in his own cellar.
Daniele cultivates 12 hectares, always organic, not only with Durella: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, some native Veronese varieties such as Oseleta, other old almost forgotten varieties such as Turchetta, in addition to Pinot Noir.
From the very beginning he worked in full respect of nature: the vineyards are surrounded by woods, lashed by the wind and enjoy slopes and exposures that facilitate exposure. In the vineyard the intervention of mowing or shredding is limited giving rise to a continuous vitality even during the hottest months, when the life of the vine becomes more difficult.
