Arkè wines tell the stories of the families who create them, they evoke the landscapes where the vines grow, they tell the philosophy and ethical choices of the winemakers, the characteristics of their land, the climate of that area and the typicality of their vines.
Why not also resonate with the stories of people with ultra-rare syndromes? Children, boys, women and men who are as rare as they are invisible to society, with symptoms and pathologies that are often unknown or untreatable, who are in great need of inclusion in the world of school and work and of a lot of scientific and medical research to give hope for a more just life.
The wines in the PARTS selection come from exclusive collaborations with the companies we distribute, from people who are aware and support these ideas. Special wines designed together, the fruit of the imagination and creativity of the producer and his distributor, special wines for special needs: a few bottles of a wine that is not typical or already made by the company, but which can be a new experiment or a gem that was ready to bloom in that place. Wine is sharing and conviviality, it has generated high-level cultural symposiums since the time of the ancient Greeks. Wine is not culture in itself, but it helps men to confront each other in an open way, it is a vehicle for small and large discussions between women and men of all kinds.
Arkè wines can introduce themes of environmental ethics and respect for human health: our idea is that they can also talk about inclusion and hope for people with a rare disability. Our goal is to include these topics in the wine lists and in the wine bars. The charitable effort will be by everyone: winemakers, agents, restaurateurs and end consumers; apart from production and shipping costs, the entire profit will be donated by Arkè to the Satb2 Italia association, which, in collaboration with the Telethon Foundation and the Uniamo Association, aims to promote medical-scientific research and support families.
The labels come from the workshop held during the festival for Arkè's twentieth anniversary (3 and 4 March 2024), in collaboration with Studio Ey: PARTS Our identity is made up of anatomical and character elements. Both are unique and unrepeatable for each individual. Each part of the body is different not only in its shape but also in the way each of us sees and represents it. If we asked 10 people to draw a nose or a mouth, we would have 10 different ways of telling each part of the body filtered by 10 different characters that express themselves through drawing.
