Podere Le Boncie
In the heart of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the southernmost part of Chianti Classico, lies Podere Le Boncie, a small winery that has become a symbol of artisanal Tuscan agriculture. It is led by Giovanna Morganti, a reference figure for many contemporary winemakers, who combines a deep agronomic knowledge with a rare and almost maternal sensitivity towards the vineyard.
Giovanna inherited this passion from her father, a renowned oenological consultant, but chose a more intimate, personal, and unconventional path. Over the years, she transformed Le Boncie into a living laboratory, where every plant, every row, and every fermentation tells the profound story of the relationship between human hands and nature.
The vineyards, which extend for just over 3 hectares, are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics: no chemicals, no invasive interventions, only observation, listening, and respect for natural rhythms. Here, Sangiovese reigns supreme, accompanied by a small proportion of native varieties such as Colorino, Foglia Tonda, and Mammolo.
In the cellar, the work is equally essential. Spontaneous fermentations, delicate macerations, aging in large used wooden barrels. Everything is aimed at preserving the vitality of the wine, its expressive purity, and its connection to its land of origin.
The estate's flagship wine, “Le Trame”, is one of the most exciting interpretations of modern Chianti Classico: a refined, vibrant, deep Sangiovese, capable of evolving over time and telling each vintage as a new chapter in the same story. Alongside it, labels such as “Cinque” or “Rosso del Popolo” broaden Giovanna's vision, maintaining the authenticity and grace that make every bottle signed Le Boncie unmistakable.
Podere Le Boncie is not just a winery, but a way of understanding agricultural life. A place where wine is not born to impress, but to move those who know how to listen to it.
