We are in Castellina in Chianti in the hamlet of La Piazza, on the border with the province of Florence. In 1988 Gabriele Buondonno and Valeria Sodano, Neapolitans by blood, found, partly for fun and partly by vocation, an old farm where they could start farming. Since then they have dedicated their heart and soul to a production that is as natural and simple as possible, with the least possible energy expenditure, without sacrificing the highest quality of the products.
From the beginning they opted for organic farming, they could be called pioneers, so much so that they are among the top 20 organic producers in the region, certified in 1989. Today they work more than 12 hectares, on land at 450 meters above sea level, decidedly suited to production, with vineyards exposed on all sides of the hill, on clay-limestone soils made draining by the solid stony skeleton.
Large cement and steel tanks allow a natural fermentation activated by the native yeasts of the different cultivated vines. In fact, many varieties are cultivated, out of curiosity and experimentation, which lead the couple to obtain different wines: but the most represented vine is naturally Sangiovese, which is found in its pure form in the Chianti Classico, in the Riserva di Chianti Classico and in the Rosso Toscano, the company's main products both in terms of quantity and typicality. These are joined by vines such as Trebbiano, Syrah and Cabernet Franc Toscani
