SRC Wines
SRC Vini was founded in 2012 in Randazzo, on the northern slopes of Etna, through the initiative of Rori, Cinzia, and Sandra — three individuals deeply connected to wine and the Sicilian landscape. The winery's name is an acronym of their initials, but it also evokes a concept fundamental to them: "being there," in the sense of leaving an authentic mark on their territory.
The vineyards are located in contrada Calderara and other high-altitude areas, amidst dry-stone walls, woods, and olive trees. Here, viticulture follows the rhythms of nature: vineyard work is reduced to the essential, with minimal and targeted interventions. The soil is tilled a maximum of a couple of times a year, while wild herbs grow freely. The same philosophy is maintained in the cellar: the wine is accompanied, not forced.
Across approximately 12 hectares, mainly Nerello Mascalese, Grenache, Carricante, Coda di Volpe, Insolia, and Minnella are cultivated, following an agricultural vision that prioritizes biodiversity and rural tradition.
Among the most iconic labels are Rivaggi, Alberello, and Pirao, all from old vines that powerfully express the character of the volcanic soil. More recently, a second white (under the Etna denomination) and a fourth red from contrada Barbabecchi, in Castiglione di Sicilia, have been added. The dream? A sparkling wine from Nerello Mascalese, to complete an ever-evolving story.
