The Biancara
MY DREAM IS TO MAKE A WINE THAT, WHEN TASTED, SPEAKS OF ITS TERRITORY
On the hills of Gambellara, in the province of Vicenza, La Biancara was born, the winery founded by Angiolino Maule, one of the pioneers of artisanal wine in Italy. In the 80s, after leaving the restaurant business, Angiolino chose to dedicate himself to the vineyard, reclaiming family-run lands and transforming them into a laboratory of authenticity and experimentation.
The vineyards, mainly cultivated with Garganega, stand on volcanic soils rich in basalts and minerals, which give the wines depth, freshness and distinct personality. From the very beginning, Maule rejected chemicals in the vineyard and artifices in the cellar, preferring a natural approach, made of spontaneous fermentations, long aging and no fining or filtration.
Over time, La Biancara has become not only a winery, but also a cultural reference point: from Angiolino, the VinNatur movement was born, an international association of winemakers that promotes respectful and transparent practices.
La Biancara's wines, such as the famous Sassaia, best express the character of volcanic Garganega and embody Maule's style: purity, territoriality and energy. Bottles that have set a precedent and continue to inspire new generations of winemakers worldwide.
