Ansonica is an Italian white grape variety, some name probably derives from the French “sorie”, which means tawny, gold-colored, it is used on the continent but also in Sicily to define the Inzolia grape variety: it can be considered a synonym, often preferred to the original name. Ansonica has southern origins but is also widespread in other Italian regions such as Tuscany, in particular the Island of Elba and Monte Argentario.
The bunch is large in size but with grapes rather sparse and have a yellow-amber colored skin.
