Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most well-known and cultivated red grape varieties in the world. Originally from Bordeaux, France, it is now found in almost all wine regions on the planet—from Italy to California, from Chile to Australia—thanks to its extraordinary ability to adapt to different terroirs and always maintain an elegant, intense, and recognizable profile.

It originated from a spontaneous cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in the 17th century, and owes its success to its solid structure, high concentration of tannins, and natural longevity. It is the grape variety that, more than any other, represents the idea of an aging wine.

In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red color and a complex bouquet of blackcurrant, plum, pepper, graphite, tobacco, and herbaceous notes. With wood aging, nuances of chocolate, vanilla, and cedar emerge. On the palate, it is full-bodied, enveloping, with dense tannins and a long, persistent finish.

From the great Bordeaux to the Tuscan Cabernet Sauvignons, all the way to the reds of Napa Valley and Chile, each interpretation reveals a different facet of the same grape variety: power, balance, and aromatic depth.

It is ideal paired with red meats, game, aged cheeses, and bold-flavored dishes. Served between 16 and 18°C, it best expresses its elegance and international character.
