Georges Comte settled in Moutherot in the Doubs, just 1 hour from Beaune, in the late 1980s. A lover of wine above all, and especially the great wines of Burgundy, in his youth he travelled to the Côte d'Or in search of the best vintages. However, the excessive use of chemicals, sulphur dioxide and the increasing standardisation of Burgundy wines ended up discouraging him. He then decided to reclaim 8 hectares of vineyards in Moutherot: a unique and exceptional land, similar to that of Montrachet. His vines are worked biodynamically by Antoine, a neighbour. The whites spend 24 to 48 months in barrel, then 10 to 15 years in bottle before being released for sale. The wines are precise, direct and elegant, even fiery! Putting your nose in Roche Bonive or Les Pélerins, for example, is like rediscovering Chardonnay for a second time. Georges Comte wines are recognizable among thousands with their inimitable style, at the same time rich, pure and evolved.
