Marino Colleoni

Among the woods and hills surrounding Montalcino, the story of Marino Colleoni and his Podere Sante Marie began. His adventure started almost by chance in the 1990s when, together with his wife Luisa, he moved to Tuscany and discovered old Sangiovese vines under an olive grove purchased out of passion. From that discovery, a project was born that is today among the most authentic in the area.

The vineyards, located north of Montalcino at an altitude of about 450 meters, enjoy a cool and airy microclimate, ideal for a slow and complete maturation of Sangiovese. The agronomic management is certified organic, based on maximum respect for the environment and natural biodiversity.

In the cellar, Colleoni works with the same artisanal spirit: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, long aging in large oak barrels, and no technical forcing. His wines – from Rosso di Montalcino to Brunello – are pure, elegant, and deeply profound expressions, capable of combining the classicism of the territory with a unique personal sensibility.

Today, Marino Colleoni's wines are considered small gems of Montalcino: bottles produced in limited quantities, but which hold all the passion, coherence, and soul of a winemaker who chose to follow an independent and authentic path.
