Domaine de Courbissac

WINE HAS SO MUCH MORE TO TELL, IT KNOWS HOW TO SEDUCTE AND MAKE ITSELF LOVED WHEN IT IS LEFT FREE TO EXPRESS ITSELF

Domaine de Courbissac is located in the Minervois appellation, between the Montagne Noire, the Massif Central and the Cévennes, an active protagonist in a process of recovery and enhancement in a famous area like that of Languedoc. The company owns 15 hectares of vineyards with varieties such as Mourvedre, Cinsault, Pinot gris, Listan, Marsanne, Muscat and of course Sirah and Grenache, with the presence of very old vines, up to 90 years old, entirely cultivated organically, without pesticides and herbicides, with the utmost respect for nature. The company was purchased by Reinhard Brundig, a French director, author of some famous films, who in 2002, fell in love with these lands, and decided to try to enhance their great value to make great local wines. But Courbissac proves to be a difficult and difficult task to tame, it understands that it needs to "reinvent" wines with new energy and freshness: it finds the answer in Marie-Brunnhilde Claux. She is a young woman who knows what she wants and how to get it and, fully understanding the potential of Domanie, she writes a new page for the production by introducing a more characteristic and unusual fermentation, with the whole bunch, with the stalks. The result is spectacular wines, gentle and soft, but very significant, and they surprise for drinkability, contrary to what we are used to thinking with the presence of the stalk in fermentation, which becomes a supporting actor nominated for an Oscar!
