The Horees
Catharina is one of Burgundy's brightest new stars, though she never imagined she'd become a winemaker. Her journey began in Dresden, studying gastronomy and working in restaurants, where a deep passion for wine was born. The turning point came with internships at Schäfer Fröhlich and then Domaine Chevrot in Burgundy. It was there that she realized that land would become home.
After graduating in viticulture, she built a resume that few can boast: Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Drouhin, de Vogüé, Marquis d’Angerville. All pioneering biodynamic estates that definitively shaped her agricultural vision. Her last experience was alongside Cécile Tremblay. And it was at that very moment that she was offered a small plot of vineyard.
Together with her husband Guilhelm, their project was thus born. The approach is radically natural: in the vineyard, only minimal amounts of copper and sulfur; in the cellar, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts. No forcing. The resulting wines are pure, lively, vibrant. The bottles are very few and increasingly sought after.
