Josko Rencel is located in Dutovlye on the Slovenian Karst, on the border with Friuli Venezia Giulia, where he cultivates with passion and attention three and a half hectares of vineyards on soils rich in mixed red earth, clay and Kremen, the famous stones of the Karst. An experimental winemaker who seeks the balance of his bottles through aging. The musts rest for years in his magnificent underground cellar, following the ancient steps: first in barrels, then steel and finally in bottles. Sophisticated, sublime and absolutely infinite are his macerated whites made with Malvasia, Sauvignon, and Vitovska. His reds are disruptive, explosive, among which Terrano, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon stand out. The real surprise is his incredible and elegant Pinot Noir, one of the few to grow it in these areas, with the 2017 vintage being the pinnacle of his creations.
