René Jean Dard and François Ribo are two of the most appreciated producers in the natural wine scene, with an operational base in Mercurol, near Tain-l'Hermitage, in the heart of the Northern Rhône. This area is famous for its iconic grape varieties, such as Syrah and Viognier. Their adventure began in the 1980s with the purchase of a hectare of vineyard and, already in 1984, their first vintage debuted. Today their wines are among the most requested in specialized wine bars in France and Japan.

Currently, Dard and Ribo manage eight hectares of vineyards spread across seven villages, within the prestigious appellations of Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Hermitage. They plant Syrah and Roussanne, an indigenous white grape variety, and follow rigorous biodynamic principles. The use of chemicals is completely excluded, limited to copper and sulfur for treatments.

In the cellar, the natural philosophy continues: after the manual harvest and a scrupulous selection, 90% of the bunches are destemmed, while the remainder is left whole to encourage spontaneous fermentation without the use of selected yeasts. Macerations, which vary from 10 to 20 days depending on the vintage, occur without temperature control. The refinement takes place in small and medium-sized barrels, and no sulfur dioxide is used throughout the process.

Dard and Ribo wines stand out for their elegance, complexity and authenticity, fully reflecting the terroir from which they come. Perfect for those seeking a tasting experience that combines naturalness and excellent quality.
