Domaine Labet was founded in 1974 by the passion and resourcefulness of Josie and Alain Labet. The current management is in the hands of their children Julien, Romain and Charline who, with an eye always turned to the future, invite you to enter a workshop of creativity and tradition. The company is located in the south of the Jura region, in the area called Revermont. All the vineyards, located on soils with characteristic layers of red, white, blue and yellow marl, have been slowly converted to organic, allowing the new generation to naturally manage vineyards that are over seventy years old. The vines used are mainly Chardonnay and Savagnin, which are able to express unique characteristics. In the cellar they work following two visions, the most traditional one of the area, producing voile wines, which means that during the aging period, the barrel is not filled, thus favoring the formation of a layer of yeasts, giving the wine oxidative sensations typical of the area. The other approach was first realized by Alain Labet, who can be considered the pioneer of the “ouilles” style, that is, wines produced through aging with topping up of the barrels, typical of neighboring Burgundy, thus revealing the great potential of the white wines of the Jura. Today this company of lovers of life, sensitive and cheerful, always willing to open a few bottles to taste, is a very important reference for the traditional whites of the Jura.
