Tai is a Veneto grape variety that is generally white, but sometimes also red, even though the two grape varieties are in no way related (see the relevant Italian ministerial decrees of 18 October 2007).

It was once known as Tocai, similarly to Tocai del Friuli from which it derives, but later the old and traditional common name was changed by decision of the European Community into the two current ones, Tai for Veneto and Friulano for Friuli.
