Yann Durieux is a young and talented winemaker who, since 2010, has created his own small domaine in the heart of Burgundy, in the renowned Côte d'Or. But instead of settling in the most famous areas, he has chosen to cultivate his vision in the lesser-known hills of the Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits. It is here that the Domaine Recrue de Sens was born, with a first plot of just 2.5 hectares, purchased by Yann after important formative experiences: first alongside Julien Guillot (Domaine des Vignes du Maynes), then for a decade at the prestigious Domaine Prieuré Roch.
Over the years he has developed a deep sensitivity for the three symbolic vines of the region – pinot noir, chardonnay and aligoté – and above all for the indissoluble bond between vine and terroir. In Burgundy, in fact, it is the place that speaks first, and the winemaker is the interpreter of this dialogue, the bridge between nature and grapes.
Thanks to the growing recognition of his work, today the Domaine extends over approximately 9 hectares, between owned and rented parcels, all managed according to the principles of natural viticulture, with limited yields and maximum attention to the expressiveness of the soil. In a choice as bold as it is significant, Yann has decided not to use the official denomination Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits, thus forcefully asserting his independent vision in one of the most iconic regions of world wine. A rising star? By now, a certainty.
