Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is a rosé wine, produced with the Montepulciano grape variety in the context of the DOC of the same name (Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC). The grapes are vinified in white or by limiting the fermentation in the presence of the skins to a few hours. Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is characterized by its cherry pink color, called Cirici, Cirice or Cirasce in the Abruzzo dialect. Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC is a fresh rosé wine, with the right acidity - between 5.5 and 6 g/l - and good alcohol content, between 12 and 13% vol. Montepulciano, the basic grape variety for the production of Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC, is characterized by the presence of antioxidant substances that make it one of the longest-lived rosé wines in Italy. Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo has a bright cherry pink color. On the nose it presents itself with elegant aromas of fresh red fruit and a fine floral note. It has a pleasant, fresh flavour, with good aromatic persistence. It pairs ideally with fish soups, grilled fish, roasted white meats and medium-aged cheeses.
