Rebecca Materne and Janina Schmitt are two friends who followed their dream after meeting at university. They gained experience at some of the area's important wineries and decided in 2014 to dedicate themselves full time to wine to make Riesling in Moselle. Their vineyards are located in the Mosel Terrasse towards Koblenz where the vines cling to the ground in very steep terraces on slate soil and look downstream at the slow flow of the river. A wide river with a flat surface that reflects the sun's rays on the vines. Theirs is hard, manual work, daily, which requires physical and mental strength to not be subject to the laws of chemistry and therefore guarantee their wines free expression of unique places. All production is divided into different crus because every bend of the river and every vineyard has a different expressiveness that must be preserved.
