Valtellina Superiore DOCG 2011 Le Strie
The Valtellina Superiore DOCG 2011 from Le Strie is a deep and structured red that embodies the alpine soul of Chiavennasca, the Nebbiolo of the mountains.
It is born among the heroic terraces of Valtellina, in the municipalities of Teglio (Valgella) and Sondrio (Sassella), on stony and sandy soils between 400 and 600 meters above sea level. Here, the south-facing slope, favored by the east-west orientation of the valley, allows for slow and complete ripening, preserving tension and aromatic finesse.
The 2011 vintage expresses depth and character. A portion of the grapes is left to dry for about a month, imparting greater concentration and complexity. After fermentation in steel tanks and 18 months in oak barrels, the wine further refines before a long rest in the bottle. The result is an intense, elegant, and persistent Valtellina Superiore, an authentic expression of the territory.
