Oslavje 100 cl Venezia Giulia White IGT 2020 Radikon
Oslavje takes its name from the hamlet of Gorizia where the Radikon winery is located — the same hill where the First World War left a military shrine and where, thirty years ago, Stanko Radikon decided to change course. It is the family blend: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Grigio — three international varieties that, on this Ponka soil and with this maceration protocol, become something unrecognizable compared to any other expression of them in the world. Same vineyard, same philosophy as Ribolla and Jakot: 3-4 months of skin contact in open truncated oak vats, manual punch-downs three or four times a day, then over three years in large barrels, then 18 months in the bottle. The wine is released six years after the harvest. No filtration, no fining, minimal traces of naturally occurring sulfites. In the glass, Oslavje is perhaps the most balanced and "articulated" of Radikon's three white wines: Ribolla has verticality, Jakot has pulp, Oslavje combines tension and volume, freshness and substance in a single sip.
The 1-liter format — a Radikon trademark — comes from the same philosophy as the wine: intended to be shared at the table, not kept in the cellar.

Vinificazione |
Destemming and crushing, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and 3-4 months of skin maceration in open truncated oak vats, with 3-4 manual punch-downs per day. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, the vats are topped up and sealed. Racking and aging in 25-35 hl oak barrels for approximately 40 months, with further rackings if necessary. 18 months in bottle before release. |
Profumo |
The nose is complex and articulate: ripe fruit, spicy notes, honey, candied citrus, noble oxidative tones. With time in the glass, it progressively opens up. |
Gusto |
In the mouth it is both taut and voluminous: freshness and substance in balance, fine tannins, marked savouriness, a long and persistent finish. The most gastronomic and versatile of Radikon's three whites. |
Abbinamento |
Roasts, structured white meats, stuffed pasta, mushrooms and truffles, robust fish soups, aged cheeses, creamed cod. Excellent throughout the meal. |
