Mandégolo - Sparkling on the Lees Veneto IGT 2024 Casa Cecchin
Mandégolo takes its name from a small, whimsical stream that flows near the Casa Cecchin winery: a name that perfectly describes the soul of this wine, spontaneous and unpredictable. With Mandégolo, Roberta and Sara bring back an ancient peasant tradition of the Lessini Mountains: Durella frizzante sur lie, bottled with its yeasts, unfiltered, allowed to naturally re-ferment in the bottle. The result is a wine that can appear opalescent, with the yeasts in suspension not to be hidden but respected: they give it that particular structure and savouriness that make Mandégolo capable of surprising even in the most unexpected pairings. The fizziness is light, almost whispered, but the Durella is immediately recognizable.

Manual harvesting at the beginning of September. Soft pressing by gravity of whole grapes. Fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks. Bottling in spring with a slight residual sugar content, without filtration. The yeasts and residual sugars present in the wine cause natural re-fermentation in the bottle, with subsequent sediment at the bottom. |
