La Fugarena - Sangiovese Romagna DOC Riserva 2019 Marta Valpiani

La Fugarena is a wine that speaks of time, in an era where time seems non-existent. The name refers to an ancient festival in Terra del Sole, a rural ritual where a fire lit in the square became a gesture of gratitude for the harvest and a good omen for the coming year. A symbol of continuity, memory, and anticipation. This wine is born as a perpetual Sangiovese from Castrocaro, obtained from the blending of several vintages of Crete Azzurre, starting from the first harvest in 2015. A journey that crosses time and territory, from the blue clays to the "sasso spungone" rock of the Sasseto vineyard.

The aging process follows the same slow and natural rhythm. It begins in demijohns, continues in concrete, without forcing, allowing the wine to find its own balance. La Fugarena is not intended to tell the story of a single vintage, but rather a place and its evolution. In the glass, Sangiovese expresses itself with depth and measure. A meditative, layered wine that does not seek immediacy but returns complexity, energy, and continuity. A red wine that invites listening, rather than rushing.
