Di Gino - Marche Bianco IGT 2024 Fattoria San Lorenzo
...di Gino is Natalino Crognaletti's everyday Verdicchio, dedicated to his father Gino, the man who spent his life selecting the best Verdicchio clones in the old vineyards of the Castelli di Jesi before leaving the winery to his son in 1995.
Pure Verdicchio from a vineyard planted in 2006 at about 240 meters above sea level, on clay, limestone, and red tuff soils. The vineyard is managed using certified organic and biodynamic methods, like all of Natalino's estate. Hand-harvested in mid-September, spontaneous fermentation with only indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, six months on fine lees in the same concrete, and another three in bottle before release.
The result is a Verdicchio with more flesh and body than the stereotype of the appellation, less tense and nervous, closer to Natalino's personal interpretation of the grape: a rounded, saline white, with that bitter almond note that you recognize with your eyes closed as a house hallmark. It is the wine to enter the world of Fattoria San Lorenzo without spending a fortune but without skipping a step in its philosophy.

Vinificazione |
Verdicchio in purity from a vineyard planted in 2006 at 240 meters above sea level, on clay, limestone, and red tuff soils. Manual harvest in mid-September, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. Six months of aging on fine lees in concrete and three months in bottle. No filtration, minimal sulfites. |
Profumo |
Open and generous nose of pear, apple, acacia blossoms, and an elderflower note. Sweet almond and a fresh herbaceous nuance are detectable on the finish. |
Gusto |
Round and saline mouthfeel, with a broader structure than classic Verdicchio. Integrated acidity, an almond-like return on the finish, and immediate drinkability that invites a second glass. |
Abbinamento |
Seafood appetizers, crudités, mixed fried seafood from the Adriatic, fresh cheeses, plain pasta dishes. |
