Coming from a family of winemakers, Giancarlo Vason, after completing his studies at the Conegliano School of Oenology, began the search for an estate to continue what had always been the family business. At the end of the 1960s, in 1969 to be precise, he managed to identify a company with ten hectares of vineyards, on the hills of Valpolicella, in the municipality of Fumane. Once the purchase was completed, work began to modernize the estate. W ith the arrival of Giancarlo's wife, Valentina Cubi, the company began to pursue other philosophies. Valentina, after finishing her work as an elementary school teacher, began to manage the winery, immediately aiming to create her own label, aware of the high value of the company's vineyards, located in the heart of important crus, known as Monte Tenda, Monte Crosetta and Rasso, right in the center of the classic hills. By also implementing organic management of the vineyards, so that the environment, nature and ecosystem are respected to the utmost among the rows, the facts soon rewarded Valentina's choices: the corvina, the undisputed star of the estate, supported by the corvinone and rondinella vines, gives rise to pure, elegant and concentrated wines, which represent the uncontaminated expression of the terroir from which they come. From the Valpolicella Rosso “Iperico” to the organic “sín cero”, we arrive at the Valpolicella Classico Superiore “Il Tabarro” and the Ripasso “Arusnatico”, without forgetting the red “QB”, the Amarone “Morar” and the Recioto della Valpolicella “Meliloto”: simply excellent wines, which best tell the true essence of the lands of Valpolicella.
