The Gueuzerie Tilquin brewery is located in Bierghes (Rebecq) in the Seine Valley, the only one in the entire Wallonia region. Managed by bioengineer Pierre Tilquin, who has had brewing experiences in several breweries such as Huyghe (Melle), 3 Fonteinen (Beersel) and Cantillon (Anderlecht). A gueuzerie, or Geuzestekerij in Dutch, is a very old brewery with years and years of history. The ingredients to produce the beers are purchased from producers in different regions (Pajottenland and Brussels) and fermented in oak barrels for maturation that lasts from one to three years. The lambics obtained are mixed in the bottle to give life, after 6 months of refermentation, to the Gueuze Tilquin.
