The Guarnaccia vine is a minor white grape variety originating from the Calabria region, where it is however very little cultivated, apart from in its chosen area, namely the province of Cosenza. No historical document can clarify the origin of Guarnaccia, and it can also be assumed that like many vines especially in southern Italy it could be one of the many grapes imported from Greece at the time of the Hellenic colonization in the 7th century BC.
