Celler Escoda-Sanahuja
In the heart of Conca de Barberà, Catalonia, Joan Ramón Escoda and his wife Mari Carmen founded Celler Escoda-Sanahuja in 1999, one of the iconic names in Spanish natural wine. From the beginning, they chose a radical and consistent approach, adopting biodynamics in the vineyard and, since 2005, completely eliminating the use of sulfites.
The vineyards, cultivated among olive and almond trees, are managed with great attention to biodiversity and soil vitality, without chemicals or invasive mechanization. In the cellar, fermentations are spontaneous, no fining or filtration is used, and any intervention is kept to a minimum: the wines are born free, authentic, intense, and deeply connected to the territory.
Escoda-Sanahuja is now recognized as a pioneer of natural wine, a visionary producer capable of combining energy, immediacy, and great personality. His bottles tell a different way of understanding wine: not just a beverage, but a sincere expression of land and life.
