Monterosso - Sparkling White Colli Piacentini DOC 2023 Saccomani
Saccomani's Monterosso is a sparkling white wine, naturally refermented in the bottle, and one of the most expressive from the Colli Piacentini: a niche appellation — Monterosso Val d'Arda — that originates in a very small area around Castell'Arquato, on sandy soils rich in Pliocene Mediterranean fossils that testify to the marine origin of these hills. The Saccomani family has been cultivating 12 hectares in Diolo for at least five generations, without herbicides for decades, and without selected yeasts or additives. The blend is led by Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, which brings floral aromatics and structure, complemented by Marsanne, Ortrugo, and Trebbiano: a combination that, in the glass, produces fine bubbles, a generous nose, and an endlessly drinkable quality.
