Lassuperiora - Bardolino Superiore DOCG 2021 Villa Calicantus
Lassuperiora is Daniele Delaini's answer to the question that has guided the entire Villa Calicantus adventure: can Bardolino be an aging wine? This Bardolino Superiore DOCG comes from the winery's highest vineyard, on the summit of a 180-meter hill above lake level, on the border between Bardolino and Pastrengo, in a breezy and bright location that enhances the structure of the grapes without sacrificing the typical lightness of Garda wines. Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and Sangiovese grow on morainic soils with a prevalence of limestone, trained in Guyot at 4,500 vines per hectare: a dense planting that forces the vine to concentrate energy in the grape cluster. The wine ages for one year in wooden barrels and then another six months in the bottle, a long and patient process that delivers complexity without succumbing to heaviness. A Bardolino that looks back, before mass tourism and an oenology that lost its identity, to express the finesse, elegance, and depth that this territory can offer when respected.

Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel, without temperature control. Aged for 12 months in wooden barrels, followed by 6 months in bottle. Rackings following lunar cycles. |
Profumo |
The nose is complex and territorial: wild berries, raspberry, wild strawberry, with notes of undergrowth, delicate spices and a balsamic hint that emerges with oxygenation. |
Gusto |
On the palate, it is mineral, fresh, and smooth, with soft and well-integrated tannins, excellent acidity, and a persistence that reveals the depth of the vineyard. A red of great Garda elegance, ready to drink now but capable of evolving pleasantly in the cellar. |
Abbinamento |
Red wine for the entire meal, ideal with appetizers, first courses, and meat-based main courses |
