Chez Charles 2022 Domaine Noëlla Morantin
Chez Charles by Noëlla Morantin is a single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc from a single plot on clay-limestone soils dotted with flint in Pouillé, with vines approximately 40 years old. The name refers to the plot itself, as with all of Noëlla's cuvées linked to a physical location on the estate.
Classified as Vin de France by deliberate choice, it is a Sauvignon unlike any conventional Touraine Sauvignon: late harvesting at the end of September and aging in old wood produce an opulent, creamy white, far from the typical herbaceous profile of the appellation. A wine that surprises and confounds expectations about the grape variety.
