Campo delle Oche - Marche White IGT 2022 Fattoria San Lorenzo
Campo delle Oche is born from the heart of the Le Oche vineyard, the same one from which Natalino Crognaletti also takes the other Verdicchio of the estate, but with a completely different selection: one or two bunches per plant, chosen one by one, from the oldest vines. It was born as a Riserva and Natalino then consciously downgraded it to Marche IGT to have a free hand in the vineyard and cellar, outside the constraints of the appellation. The vineyard faces south-west, at about 380 meters above sea level, on sandy-clay soils that give tension and mineral depth to the Verdicchio.
It is one of the deepest and longest-lived Verdicchio wines that can be drunk in the Marche region, and one of the white wines that best tells what a Central Italian grape variety becomes when it is allowed to express itself without forcing. Layered nose of ripe fruit, honey, broom, saffron and hydrocarbon, dense and salty palate at the same time, interminable finish. To open now to understand it or to wait five or ten years to see it truly open up.

Vinificazione |
Selection of the best grapes from the Le Oche vineyard, one or two bunches per plant, from the oldest vines. Soft pressing, spontaneous fermentation in steel with indigenous yeasts. Very long aging on fine lees in concrete for over twelve months and subsequent rest in the bottle. No wood, no filtration. |
Profumo |
Layered bouquet of ripe yellow fruit, acacia honey, broom, saffron, hydrocarbon, and a balsamic note that unfolds in the glass. A profile of a great Verdicchio. |
Gusto |
In the mouth, it is dense and salty, with a tension that runs through the entire sip and a substantial structure that is never heavy. Interminable finish, with an almond and mineral return. Suitable for aging. |
Abbinamento |
Tempura crustaceans, grilled noble fish, saffron risotto, aged Parmesan, high-level Japanese cuisine. |
