Dritto is the right name for this wine: no compromises, no deviations, no artifices. It is the Bardolino Classico from Tenuta La Cà in its most faithful form to the territory, the one that Pietro and Aldo Giambenini produce from the plots of Calmasino, in the heart of the Classic area of the denomination, a few kilometers from the shores of Lake Garda. The medium-textured morainic soils, rich in clay, manganese, iron, and calcium and fed deep down by natural springs, return to Corvina and Rondinella that mineral savoriness and freshness that are the historical signature of Bardolino. The same territory, the same grape varieties as Amarone and Valpolicella, but here the proximity to the lake, the limited altitude and the lightness of the morainic soils produce something completely different: a pale and luminous ruby red, agile, easy-drinking, where fruit prevails over structure and savoriness acts as a common thread from the beginning to the end of the sip.
